Today: June 1st 2011, Children’s Day, the sunny day in this rainy season. There is no rain today, maybe it is Children’s Day, and God want to keep all the children happy for today so block the rain for a day. By the way, the topic for today is not about God, neither it’s rain today, nor it is about nice sunny day. The topic for today is Children’s Day, 六一儿童节, or បុណ្យសិទ្ធកុមារ. If you don’t like children, dislike children’s day or think this article is bored then you can just leave this page now. When I was young I studied at Tuan Far School, a Chinese school. There are not so many things to study, and I don’t have to worry about home work too. Every year at June the 1st, my school had some program for children, and they give children cakes, candies and toys. Most of memories and functions that I have when I was children:
As a child to my grandmother, I tried to get a 100% on home work and got money from her to save in my piggy bank.
As a child to my parents, I don’t have to work so hard for my study. They won’t complain if I’m not read books.
As a child to my teachers, he or she doesn’t bother with me. They don’t have to remind me please read your books.
As a child to my brother, we are child so let play together, and I fight you if you tried to get my toys.
As a child to my friend, I don’t care about them. I am selfish, and you just don’t touch my toy if I brought it to school. Moreover, I don’t care or know what is friendship?
As a child to a stranger, if he or she comes and talk to me. I will think who are you. Just go away because I don’t know you.
Finally, as a child I concern, worry, and care nothing.

Now, I study at Zaman University. I have many things to do include: my lesson portfolio projects, read books, and research on the Internet. There is one thing that I had question myself, why today is a holiday for Zaman University. It is Children’s Day; it has nothing to do with us as we are a university student. However, holiday today help me to remind or rewind back to the aged that I had before. Yet, time is passing, everything is difference including me. Now I hold much more responsibilities. Moreover, the functions that I had before are completely changed.
For now:
As a grandson to my grandmother, I have to take care of my grandmother; I have to be a walking stick for her when she walked.
As a son to my parents, I have to study, develop myself, help my family, and make a different to my community.
As a brother, I have to be responsible for my action as my brother will follow me. I have to answer his question that involved with his education.
As a student, I have to be active but not talkative in my class. I have to be preparing when Mr. Terrence asked me, Sear Lim how many pages you read so far.
As a friend, I have to ask my friend when I need their help, and I respond back to them when they need me.
Overall, this topic is not pressure anyone but it what we have to do although we want or don’t want. It is part of human activities and it is real from child to young adult and adult. It is a process of human life. Therefore, Children’s Day is the day that people should celebrate for their children, and remind them about a part of their growing.

What a good life you got here Mr.Lim. I really glade to hear your story about the children's day. I can see that you were really enjoying your life as a child and even thought now you still not forget the way of your living and keep getting better and better, stronger and stronger.
