Impression of We Are All The Same

          We Are All the Same is a book written by Jim Wooten, the senior correspondent for ABC News’s Nightline. According to the book, in 2002, he is award for Excellence in Journalism. The book written in modern English literature, and perfectly describe about poverty and the most dangerous disease in Africa. The book started by report the situation on people in Africa and how they survived with the Apartheid society.

          First of all, people have a very hard time in struggling with apartheid society, a society that looks down the value of their own people. Moreover, in this society people name is not matter to others. A woman worked on book store, she had asked a foreigner to pay the book bill when he already paid it. This small mistake made her boss fired her; the kind and gentle foreigner asked about her name, and actually her boss don’t even know her name. Africa was place that people name is not matter, not only their name but many other things that were not matter because they had something more important to concern and that was foods. In the early of the book, express how dark of this place. People are really afraid of starving, a baby girl in Ruth family was born on one of them, and years later she learned to say was “Kodwa silambile”, it mean we are hungry. Normally, in many others societies, people are concern about their children to go to school when they in the age of learning, but not for Zulus or some part of Africa. Education was not important to them because they had no any other reason to concern about education while they were starving.

          Later the book focuses on a disease, an unknown disease at that time. This disease had infected to men, women, and children of Africa. Millions of them had infected in this disease in which they don’t know what disease is that. They just knew that it is a tired disease, thin disease or skin disease. It was AID. Later on Daphne’s son and daughters also infected by this disease. In which this book is mainly focus on the boy that can live for ten years because of this killing disease, is a tragedy to the little boy and to all Africa that infected without their knowledge.

          Africa is a dark place that we couldn’t know or heard about. However, Jim Wooten made a well report there, so that we can know and remember their name (African) once again. This book really made the difference in their life because it written perfectly to let all the others and new generation to know about what their life was in apartheid, a cruel society.        

          We should appreciate what Jim Wooten had done in this well report, it just like something that we actually had heard or saw in our own by this report. It just recalled of a tragedy death by disease, and starving of the innocent that can see the earth for only ten years or a bit longer or even a bit shorter. I express it in several ways so that people can know or remember about this book, and keep continue recommend it to one another and even their children in the future to just read this book, and keep it.      

         

Overview of Beautiful Things

I read about the poetry of Beautiful Things by Ellen P. Allerton. I think it is a beautiful piece of work as it had ranged all thing in order from face, eyes, lips, hands, feet, shoulders,live, twilight, goal, rest, and grave. As what I known, I think it actually have ranged to what we call our life, from the begin to the end. In several ways, I believe it is enough in human life. For the part that I like most, from the beautiful twilight as set of sun, beautiful goal with race well won, and beautiful rest with work well done. Of course, I know that the sun set is twilight, but it sound beauty to me. Beautiful rest with work well done, is the best part that because you can rest only when you done your work clearly and well. I feel appreciate to this poem and especially to Ellen P. Allerton. Actually, it is a simple, but great poem that I like.

Blog and Various things

I think blogging is a good activity as I have two blog site, blogger and tumblr. I think people actually can learn from each other blog. For instance, today I had post an article of 9 billion-people question in my tumblr, and I find two picture to post on my blog then I have know a good blog to follow recently. http://worku.wordpress.com, is a good blog that I recommend. You can find and know about the condition of Ethiopian. 
It is good to know more; especially, the condition of the world right now. Ethiopia is one of the good place for you to look at, I hope that you don't only look at something news from the rich side when the poor side is waiting for you.

The Topic of Poverty

Today Wednesday 6th July, 2011 I went to City Mall with my friends. We went to bought tickets for Transformer3 in 3D. On the way to City Mall, I saw ten people sell flower, news paper on the road, and some beg for money. Each time I saw something that similar to this, I feel disturbed from all those image. I stay inside the car with air condition while those people stay under the sun, doing something for little money. I don't know what can I describe much about this issue, but I just hope that there is one day, my country will be better. It shouldn't only my country but other as well. I remember in poverty.com, the record show about 25,000 people died because of hunger. It is normal that people died, but it just sock me that the course of the death is starving. Sometime I feel that people fail to help people, the same species that live on earth. What we can really do when we can't even help our kind. The debate going on years and years, the commenting about poverty, website and picture hosting about poverty, people concerning about poverty, and the fund that people raise for those poor; however, some people still died because of hunger. Several months earlier, in the class we were discuss about poverty issue, and all of us seem to agree that poverty can be banned in one condition, that is all people in the earth taking action and involve in this action. Will this really happen? It depend on you, I think.            

Another Accident

Today 30th June, 2011 at 5 O'clock I was ridding motorbike with Bong Roth (Naroth Yee) back home. We ridding motorbike slowly on the road because it was rain earlier so the road is slippery. However, no matter how careful we are, we still have accidence in the way. An old man ride motor next to us, and he kind of hit us without knowing anything I and Bong Roth fall down. I really wonder how those people ride motor in that way, they should not just ride motor carelessly because they will bring others to become the victims of accidence. Anyway, after that happen we still continued head to our home. So this is the second accidence that I post in my blog, but I don't expect any more accident to post in this blog.

Is Destination Exist?

Today 28 May, 2011 I was exercise at Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I just walk through two big gates I saw three beggars begging around for money. Two of them carry their little baby, the first thing that come into my mind is how they will survive with their baby if they have to beg around. I looking at them many time, and I also look at my pocket but I don't have any money with me today. I feel so sorry; although, I had nothing to do with them. I really doubt will they can get better, I knew Cambodia are better than the past, but I want more better until there are no one afraid of starving. I hate this word (starving), but it appear a lot in a country that struggle with poverty. If those country can overcome their struggling than their people will have a better future, but if they can't then the world would push them around just like a fool. Suddenly, my mind appear a word destination. I asked myself many time before, does destination exist? I hope not because it painful if it does, there are no reason why some people so smart, and some people are dump. There are no reason why some children born in fortune family while some children born in a womb of beggar. Forgive me, if I'm rude, but my purpose just to express my feeling. I hope there is one day that people would gather around to fight poverty. For me, fighting poverty is a harmless war but we still need a lot of effort and energy. Moreover, we need the support from all people in the world. My grammar is not good or perfect in this writing, but my intention for fighting poverty is good and perfect. I told myself there is one day that I would stand for my country, and for all people that begging.

All the Meeting will Finish

All the meeting will finish mean there is no any meeting or party that will not end, so every things have it limit. The purpose of the article is for Mr. Jacky Chemistrier. He leaving Cambodia head to United State of America, New York City for the bright future. He receive a 100% Scholarship of Fullbright. I still remember the first day I met him, when I had an entrance exam test. He carry a laptop, and he also prepare something for the entrance test at Zaman. I also heard his conversation with an Turkish guy, stuff at Zaman. I started to think how long had this man study Turkey language because he seem to speak it fluently.  Until I became Zaman's student, I realized that he used to study at Istanbul for many years. He is a kind and helpful person that I ever know, I used to ask something that related with my academic lesson. However, he had leave so I believe that I won't have a chance to ask him anymore. Or maybe I can ask him through email or Facebook, hopefully or if he had time. I really wonder how busy he is when he begin his further degree on Chemistry. I don't really had much to say beside I really appreciate his help.

The End of the Blog's Project

Time travels very fast, seven weeks earlier I just post my first blog until now I have finish my portfolio project. This is the end of the portfolio project; however, it is not the end of my blog. I still continue to write various articles that is mine to this blog. Moreover, I try to summary the book that I had read, and I will post any interesting topic in my view to this blog. It was my pleasure to blog for everyone; although few people read or follow my blog, but as I remembered from a drama said, if you have one audience that is watching to you, and he or she is faithful to you then you have succeed in your work. Therefore, I want declare that even though there is only one person that read my blog and he or she is faithful to me then I would continue this blog for my whole life. Finally, the day of my death is the end of the blog. It may be exist if blogger still keep my blog.

Dilemma

Today after lunch, I was back to Zaman University’s library. I met with Mr. Udom, Hak, Meta Soy, and Ms. Leakena. We are talking about various things. Later on, we talk about the topic of dilemma; honestly it was the new vocabulary that I knew today from Mr. Udom. Dilemma is a predicament, question, difficulty in a problem offering at least two possibilities, but neither of which is practical acceptable. On the other hand, life is strange as today Pen Kolneath remind me about “Chicken or Egg, which one come first”, this question is considering a dilemma. First of all, I don’t know that this is call dilemma question, but after I had met Mr. Udom then I knew from him what the dilemma is. The topic: chicken or egg come first seems to be simple or ordinary; actually it was remarkable and extraordinary because if we really want to talk about it then it would lead to further topic of evolution. Beside this topic, there are many examples of dilemma questions. For instance, the question asked by my mother: Assume that you have wife, then one day your wife and I drown in the water, who will you save first? The two possible questions aren’t practical acceptable. There are still many topics that involved in a dilemma, and when I start to think of those topics like chicken or egg then I think of the life cycle that includes: born, old, sick, and died. The similarities of both topics were it was a difficult question that no one will answer this question clearly; by the way, the truth just hiding and remain mysterious while some people keep claiming that they know the right answer. They just kind of smart but not truth because they were reasonable in explain dilemma, but it was not true. It just like what Hak ever said, a thousand times of lie will become truth in one day. Overall, the vocabulary dilemma is a strong and debatable topic that everyone like to talk about; although, there won’t have any result in this topic. Finally, it remains only question marks in people head.

My Overview of “The Call of the Wild”

The call of the wild is a title of the book written by Jack London. It was a classic story that contains man and dog characters. The dogs are the snow dogs, that ridding sled. This book was providing by Mr. Terence since the beginning of the final quarter, and so far I finish chapter four. Now I want to express how I feel about the ordinary classic book.  

            There are several characters but there is one main character, Buck, the strong muscle dog. However, Buck was not a leader at the outset. Spitz was another strong dog that also skillful in attacking, and he was the leader of the team. The story become interesting in chapter 3 where Buck tried to revolt to become a leader, so he tried to use his smart trick to broke the solidarity of the team. The team became weaker and weaker until one day that Spitz and other dogs tried to chase the rabbit, and Buck at that time, fight against Spitz. Buck killed Spitz.            

            After Spitz died, Buck believes himself to become a leader of the team as he was a brave and strong dog in the team. Francoise and Perrault (the two men) know what was going on, so they tried to get somebody in the team that replace Spitz’s place but it should not be Buck. First of all, Francoise tried to put Sol-leks as the head of the leader, and they believe that he could lead well. Buck sprang upon Sol-leks, made him back and standing in his place. Most people really want to become the leader of the team, but not for Sol-leks because he knew how strong Buck is, and he wouldn’t feel comfort to stand at Buck’s place as Buck deserved to be the leader. Buck fought for it, and he was in an open revolt even with the two men. The two men tried to get someone else to become the leader as Sol-leks was coward to become the leader; however, there is no one in the team was willing to become the leader. Finally, the two men had compromise with Buck and let him become the leader of the team.     

            After Buck becomes the leader, he was not completely happy because there are still things that he has to fight for, and there are things he has to solemn for. In chapter four, the team had lost its member, and it was Dave. The book is written that dogs are emotion creature because they are sad, ambitious, and cruel. Consequently, it also care for it duty. Dave was weak after sled for too long, and so Sol-leks were place in Dave’s position. No matter how tired he was, Dave didn’t like anyone to replace his position so he tried to fight with Sol-leks. The battle was finish Dave was left the team because Dave had to gone away. This is not because he fought with Sol-leks but it was because he was too weak to continue.   

            The book was written perfectly in English Literature; moreover, it was hide many of the moral lessons. It taught us about the ambitious of dog that reflect to real life of people. The peaceful fighting but contain harmful result. I believe those are the moral of the story that the author really concern. The sadness of the dog told us that no matter how strong you are, there is time that you need other, and you will be depress in your whole life.               

Books

 Mostly people believe, Book is our best friend. Book is the sources of knowledge depend on what book you read. When I was young I hate reading, and I don’t like to read any book that is too thick. Now a day, I feel just different because I believe the book is the only source that I gain knowledge from outside school because sometime school can’t teach us all things.

Now, I have my small library at my home and an electronic library in my Ipad.

My little library at my home has about 40 books that are not including the text books from school. There are five books about technologies, ten books about politics, 10 books about religious (Christian), and others about self help etc. I have read about 25 books overall, and I’m going to finish all of it as I wish to get the new in my little library. For my Ipad’s library, I have 23 books, and all books are free to download. There are two books on my Ipad that is exactly to the books that Mr. Terrence provides in reading course. The two books are Hearth of Darkness and Call of the Wild.


To be honest, I just began to like reading book when I was in 12th grade, but it all have to be politics books. I don’t know why but I just like to read and know about politics. However, when I began at Zaman Univeristy I like to read others book also if I think it is good for me.

Time Travel

            Today lesson is Time Travel. It’s all about traveling through time, and it can be in the past or future. The statement from the Book Concept for Today states that, if you could move at the speed of light, 186,282 miles a second then your time would stand still. If you could move faster than light, your time would move backward. Mr. Terrence (Lecturer of Zaman University) had asked several questions related to time travel. If you had a time machine that can let you travel:

When will you go to?

Future or Past

Where will you go?

Why you go there?

The answer I have is to go to Ireland when Mr. Terence job was a prosecutor, and I want to see how serious he will be in the court. Actually, this is not answer that I have in my mind, but I just made it up to answer the question from him. The real time I want to be is in past, in any time that I had done wrong. I want to change the situation when I reply rudely to my father or mother. I also want to change the time that I had broken my right hand because of playing football. I still remember it was 2002 when the world cup occurs, and I was addict with football. One day, I asked my mom to play football outside, but she refused and I don’t listen to her and go outside. When I came back my hands had broke already, I saw my mom and my grandmother cried in the hospital. I feel so hard in that day to see my mistake made they cried. More and more, I still done many thing that is completely wrong, I regret about it.      

Everyone is making mistake, no one perfect. For me, I had made a lot of mistake in the past that I can’t fulfill it. However, if there is time machine that I can travel to the past then I won’t repeat the same mistake as I did. 

Regret and Afraid

It’s 8th June 2011 today weather is normal. I see the dark cloud in the sky, but there still no rain today. After lunch, I tried to find a new article to post on my blog, but I run out of idea neither find a new article. After I arrived home, and open my laptop watch several pictures on the folder name CAS Memories. It’s the place that I store all the pictures from my high school. Suddenly, I feel regret and afraid.

I feel regret because I don’t write any journal or daily when I was in high school. The reason that I regret because I think if I had written any article when I was in high school, then I would have many articles on my blog that can express how I really feel for my high school. Time is passing really fast; two close friends become two completely strangers. The motto we had on graduation day said, we met as strangers, we grew as classmates, and we leave as friends. This motto seems to be differences because it seem like we leave as friends and meet once again as strangers. It still not what really I afraid yet, as I can’t see what will be in the future. What if two close friends become two enemies, and then I have arrived of my fear.

I regret that I’m not keeping any record of the good or sad time that we have together. I afraid we will forget what we had done in CAS. Now, I want to start my daily book in my university years, but I afraid it will not be as good as my high school years. I being told by my friends, a friend are friends forever if the Lord, the Lord of them. Moreover, a friend will not say never, if a friend need help. It seem like something blowing my mind and chokes me up, I won’t believe this if a friend told me but I face it, and I regret and afraid about it. I don’t want them to be a stranger that pass by my door, say hi and leave me.

So that is all of what I regret and afraid, although I don’t have to be in that way, but I just did. This feeling is excruciating to me.

Advice to All Friends

I had an old advice that I want to remind once again. It all about posting or putting pictures on Facebook. As we know, Facebook is a social network that contain about 500million active users or more according to some Internet site. These 500million users contain black and white people, so we have to be careful because the friend that you know from Facebook is different from your friends at schools, works, or universities. Although you see them; however, you can’t know what they really want, and you might be underestimate of their intention to become your friend. I agree that have a lot of friends is a brilliant idea, and it is cool. However, you still can’t contact to all of them. For instance, I have more than 300 friends on Facebook, but some of them just add me. I just accept them because it was what we called, being polite. Day by day, I feel that it still a bright idea to keep our account down low as we still ordinary people who will make the mistake. If you make a mistake on Facebook, then someone might get your information, and this information could jeopardize you in the future. You won’t realize how much it will cost you. It is not only your stupid or silly picture that you post, but it is online that everyone will see; more important, it can ruin your future when you want to do some powerful things.

Accident's Day

It is Sunday, 6th May 2011 I was at Brown coffee with Tou. Yesterday, Vitou asked me about the lesson because he doesn’t know anything about the lesson as he had a week off school. He is busy in prepare some big thing that I couldn't reveal ask public. Then I asked him to go to Brown for today, and we go to Brown coffee to review our lesson. We went there since one in the afternoon, and Hak is arrived about 3 and half. We had a little chat there, it about Hak's new suggestion or plan. He wants to suggest school for camping; I think the idea is cool and good for Zaman University students. However, we afraid of the controversial that we will have and won't succeed. No matter what, Hak want to run this project or this program. It is more than a project, and it all about the training school in the camp that we ever had in high school. We talk about an hour, and finally rain is coming. First, I ride with Vitou but Hak think that it was slow, and he afraid I got wet with my laptop as his motor is faster. Therefore, I leave Vitou, and ride with Hak. Furthermore, we got accident. Hak's motor is fall because tried to escape from Vitou's motor. Finally, I was on top of Hak's body. I'm still ok just feeling pain in several places, but I think my friend got more than I do. Oh this article is not tried to blame anyone or who fault's this. I just want to tell you that this is not your fault, it is an accident so we all cool even accident. You just tried to help, so don't feel bad or shame because of this happen. Overall, I still thank you my friends!
